Private Tour From Vienna To Salzburg And Hallstatt

Our private guide will pick you up from your hotel or apartment in Vienna and together you will drive west. First we will head to Hallstatt. Hallstatt is perhaps the most photographed village in all of Austria. It is a fairy-tale-like village located between the crystal-clear Hallstatter lake and steep mountains. It was above this village, in the mountains, where people mined salt already 7000 years ago! Salt, often nicknamed white gold, made the region incredibly wealthy. We will take a funicular up the mountain to enjoy a stunning view of the area from the Skywalk viewpoint. Optionally we can also visit the historical saltmines. From Hallstatt we will continue to Salzburg. Our private tour of Salzburg will start by exploring the Mirabell gardens. These stunning baroque gardens that appeared in the movie The Sound of Music offer fantastic views of the Hohensalzburg Fortress. We will then continue over the river into the Old Town. Our private guide will show you Mozart’s birthplace. We will visit the Salzburg cathedral and take a funicular up to the Hohensalzburg Castle, one of the largest and best-preserved medieval castles in Central Europe, founded in 1077.Â
